NOT A MUSIC EVENT. Chav Solidarity is a book promotion that coincides with the start of Music Festival.
"There are many books about brutal childhoods; of people who ended up in the care, psychiatric, or criminal justice systems but this one concentrates on those moments where people in poverty stuck up for each other and from those moments a story is woven of a growing personal and political conscience. An acoustic set from one of the best local singer songwriters. Clever, witty, and indescribable! not the usual acoustic set. The band Mirrorkill deservedly have a cult status in Lancaster and beyond. Atticus makes a great venue for a gig like thisbecause here you can catch the lyrics and all the clever stuff you would miss is a bigger place.
Fee Fee Moy Moy described their genre of music as 'drone folk'. There is hardy-gurdy and some other droney instruments but FFMM refuse to neatly fit into any genre. After Rat Bit Kit - who sadly can't make it this year - they are the strangest and most original band to play in Atticus. What to expect this year? We have no idea, but we are certain it will be hugely enjoyable.
Brunt Boggart Trailer from first take on Vimeo.
We tried Brunt Boggart a couple of years back in Lancaster Library and though it was an excellent event we felt that the venue was not really suitable for an intimate storytelling with a musical soundtrack and video. This time it will be performed in Atticus and I can guarantee it will be one of the highlights of the festival. Check the video clip above and read the review on the website. Arrive early to be sure of a place.

Multi-talented singer, songwriter, storyteller, poet and writer Tom George is coming back again this year. His popularity continues to grow at every gig so come early to be sure of a place.
Arbie J is one of our favourite singer songwriters. Always welcome back to Atticus, and if you listen to the above video you'll understand why.
For the first time in Atticus we have Forragers. All the way from Kenda! Check their Facebook page. We are delighted to have them and really looking forward to hearing them play.
Crossroad are Maz and Rex who played together in Atticus last year. They are so well known and popular in Lancaster that they need no introduction. Come along and enjoy the music. This is classic blues with that good time feel that sets you feet tapping ,and puts a smile on your face.
Our favourite trad jazz band return to Atticus. Welcome back Bazzer's Jazzers!
We don't know much about Waterheads except that Jo from Luna is involved. So expect something unusual and brilliant.
Synth, lazers, strobes and disco balls. The amazing Leth is back again. How does he fit all that equipment into such a small space? Hw do we fit in the audience? These are mysteries to rival the Tardis.
Always welcome at Atticus and another of our favourite bands.
We are delighted to have Alice Ashcroft playing in Atticus. Especially as we have been hearing so much about how brilliant her other his around Lancaster have been. Don't miss this one!
Luna are a duo from Sunderland Point playing quirky original songs and tunes about life, love, curlews, squeezeboxes and the wonderful place where they live. Their tunes range from sultry Balkan, to French and Cajun with the odd old timely number thrown in for good measure on accordion, guitar, banjo and 2 voices.
Beware! That is no curlew, it's an ear-worm!

And finally......
We no nothing about Breadman.
But rumour has it that Billy Pook from Fee Fee Moy Moy is involved and there will be lots of bread.
After the gig we will be making a short five minute 360 3D virtual reality recording of Breadman and a small invited audience of around eight people. If you would like to be a part of this just let us know.

Cicak - pronounced Cheechack - means gecko in Indonesian and Malay.
Spoof superhero films are popular with Hollywood these days but Malaysia was there first with Cicak-Man a low budget, but thoroughly silly, entertaining and inventive, film that was a hit throughout South East Asia,
Hairi Yatim (Saiful Apek), is a loser who lives in Metrofulus. While working in the lab, he accidentally drinks coffee that containing a virus-infected gecko (Virus 266). He soon finds himself doing the most insane things, such as sticking to walls, making chirping cicak noises and adding bugs to his menu. He turns to his best friend and apartment mate, Danny Yusry (Abdul Halim), and begs him to find the reason behind his strange antics.
